In the early morning hours of Saturday 09/18/2021 the Hudson Cemetery suffered extensive damage resulting from an unfortunate car accident on US 19. Vehicle was traveling North on US-19, ran a red light, and collided with a U-Haul truck. The vehicle veered off into the cemetery crashing into the tombstone of John O. Hay
On behalf of the Hudson Cemetery Preservation Association, our thoughts and prayers are going out to the young driver of the vehicle and to the Burns family as they recover from their injuries. God Bless You and we hope for the best possible outcome.
We will be working to repair the damage to our fence and most importantly to restore the tomb of veteran JOHN O. HAY, who died at Camp Gordon in 1912.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE REACHED OUT AND OFFERED ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT. This is not the first time we have replaced our fence due to an accident from US19. Support our efforts to lobby for a GUARD RAIL!!
