Welcome to the HUDSON CEMETERY PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION WEBSITE!
Who we are:
The Hudson Cemetery Preservation Association is a 25 member non profit organization formed to encourage and promote a mutual interest in the ongoing maintenance, preservation, and restoration of the historic Hudson Cemetery, located in Hudson, Pasco County, Florida (corner of US 19 & Hudson Ave, Hudson, FL 34667)
History:
This burial ground was established by the family of Isaac W and Amanda Hudson who settled the Hudson community, originally known as Hudson’s Landing. The first burial was that of their daughter Melissa in 1878. This rugged pioneer family came to Florida from Alabama and lived in Madison and Chipco before moving to the Gulf Coast area seeking a healthier climate.
What we do:
Our incorporation in 2010 is a continuance of a community-based organization with the goal of preserving the Hudson Cemetery and those that have been laid to rest there. They are our families, many veterans and pioneers who dedicated their lives to making our community a better place. We are committed to preserving the cemetery for this, and future, generations. Our goal is to bring back the historical relevance of the cemetery, maintain it’s grounds and headstones with the respect they deserve, and to bring about community awareness so the effort can be continued for generations to come.
